They first met as child stars on the set of the fantasy series Super Inggo more than a decade ago and now Jairus Aquino said he can’t believe his co-star Makisig Morales is finally engaged. Makisig was part of the fantaserye Bagani which ended in August and he returned to Australia right after the finale to be with his family. Jairus said he had no idea Mak already had serious plans with his Fil-Aussie girlfriend Nicole Joson. “Yes sobra. Last time na nag-usap kami umuwi lang siya sa Australia. Ang usapan pa namin dito siya mag-bi-birthday, dito siya magpa-Pasko, dito siya mag-nu-New Year. Yan ang usapan namin,” he shared with PUSH.
Jairus said he contacted Mak after seeing the engagement announcement on the latter’s social media account. “Nagulat ako days after, sabi ko, ‘Uy bro ano ‘to?’ Tinawagan ko agad siya. Tapos tumatawa lang siya. Sabi niya, ‘Wala bro, things happened eh.,’” he recalled.
Although some netizens were quick to point out that Mak had just recently broken up with his previous girlfriend after a long-distance relationship that lasted five years, Jairus said he just wants to focus on his friend’s happy news. “Hindi ko alam, hindi ko ma-gets. Pero siyempre kung saan naman masaya yung kaibigan ko. I’m happy for him. Kung saan siya masaya dun lang din ako. Kung meron man tayong ibang mga naririnig na issue or what, basta I’m happy for him. Yun lang yun,” he shared.
Jairus is one of the celebrity guests invited to Mak’s wedding in Sydney, Australia, happening in the second quarter of 2019.
