Bea Alonzo shares her most unforgettable ‘kilig’ moments on ‘A Love to Last’

As her show A Love to Last nears its finale on September 8, Bea Alonzo said she is one of those people who believe that love can last in different forms. “I believe in a love that lasts. I would like to believe na meron talagang pagmamahal na forever sabi nga nila. Iba iba talaga yung pagmamahal or yung love story na binibigay sa bawat tao. There are whirlwind romances, there are romances na na-develop galing sa isang mahabang friendship so siguro hindi na-me-measure sa ganun. Siguro sa connection talaga at sa damdamin,” she shared. When asked if in real life she believes that Gerald Anderson will be her love that lasts, the pretty actress gave a pragmatic reply, “Napakaaga pa para sabihin yan. Napakaaga para magsabi na siya yung The One. Wala pa kami dun.”

After bringing to life the role of Andeng in the series for the past eight months, Bea shared how she has truly embraced the Batanguena accent she brings out so convincingly in the show. “Pagka-hirap naman eh! (laughs) Malaking tulong na si nina Tita Irma Adlawan, sila Tita Perla Bautista kapag nag-uusap kami sa set ganun na rin yung accent so mas madali na. Off cam ganun na kami. Si Tita Perla yung Batanguena so siya talaga yung nagtuturo sa akin,” she said.

Out of all the highlights in the show, Bea admitted that her scenes with leading man Ian Veneracion have stood out the most for her. Nandun lang kami sa loob ng bahay, umaga, and habang lahat ng tao nag-e-expect ng isang malaking proposal yung ginawa ng writers at directors namin nag-decide sila na gawin simple lang yung eksena and they stayed true to the branding of the soap which is a slice of life kind of soap. Yun yung beauty ng ginagawa namin eh na it offers the audience the opportunity to see themselves onscreen kapag uuwi sila sa bahay at kung sinasalamin yung araw-araw nilang pinagdadaanan sa buhay. Kaya ko siya na-enjoy yung eksenang yun is because I get to do a scene like that with Ian Veneracion who is also a brilliant actor and ang daling nakarating sa emotion na yun,” she explained.

The 29-year-old actress admitted that their sweet scenes look even more realistic because she can’t help but feel the emotions as well when they are shooting it. “Hindi naman siguro mag-wo-work yung mga eksena namin kung hindi totoo yung kilig kasi pano naman namin ma-ko-convince yung audience na kiligin kung kami mismo hindi kami kinikilig sa mismong eksena?” she said.
