De La Salle University varsity player Prince Rivero’s tweet that was intended to express his love for his mother drew flak from enraged JaDine fans who expressed their disgust over his supposed “offending” remark against Nadine Lustre.

Last September 2, he tweeted a selfie with the actress during the Green Archers’ guesting on It’s Showtime’s Cash-Ya segment where he and his teammates played against the hosts.

On the same day, the cager posted a photo of him with his mom initially captioned “Better than my photo with Nadine” that caught the attention of JaDine’s followers.

Realizing what happened, the 22-year-old Green Archer immediately apologized to Nadine and her fans through consecutive tweets and altered the controversial caption of the said photo. According to him, the incident was merely a result of “wrong choice of words” and was not intended to attack her.

“Oh no. Now ko Lang na open twitter ko. Sorry sa lahat ng affected. Wrong choice of words Lang po. I'm just trying to be sweet sa mom ko,” he tweeted.

Nadine has yet to react on the issue.
