Gerald Anderson on his experience attending previous Star Magic Balls: ‘Kinakabahan ako’

With the Star Magic Ball happening on Saturday, September 30, Gerald Anderson said he has already changed a lot since attending his first ball after joining the first season of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition in 2007. With photos of him from a decade ago being posted again online, Gerald said he is thankful to be attending again. Wala I’m just sobrang thankful to be part of that. So just to be part of it sobrang privileged ako and I’m excited. Siyempre makikita natin maraming artista na nakabihis. It’s a very magical night,” he said during the Century Tuna Red launch event held last September 28 in Taguig city.

This year will be much more laidback compared to his first ball when he was actually nervous attending the event. “The first time kasi pinasayaw kami and it was the very first Star Magic Ball. But this time mas relaxed lang ako,” he shared.

It was during the 2010 ball that he and Bea Alonzo were caught on cam leaving together even though at that time they were being paired with other people onscreen. The Kapamilya actor shrugged off the incident as a thing of the past. But it’s very exciting para sa industriya sa ABS-CBN,” he said.

With Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin doing well in its daytime slot, Gerald said he is not pressured by ratings wars.

The 28-year-old actor said he is also happy that there have been new additions to the cast with Arci Munoz and JC Santos. “Nakakatuwa. That’s good. Kasi siyempre si Arci pa. So it’s good na pumayag siya pumasok and not to give a  spoiler away pero babalik pa. So mag-te-taping pa kami kasama siya pati si JC (Santos). Tapos naman sila pero ngayon babalik ulit to extend pa. Matagal-tagal pa and kumbaga sobrang swak sila sa show namin eh. Pero dahil nga naghiwalay kami ni Bianca (Kim Chiu’s character) sa show, marami pang dapat abangan,” he admitted.
