Zanjoe Marudo is set to make the country proud after earning his first ever international nomination from the iEmmys.
The hunky actor is nominated under the Best Performance by an Actor category at the International Emmy Awards for his stellar portrayal of a single father who was forced to raise his children inside a cave after fleeing from a typhoon that ravaged their home in Maalala Mo Kaya.
The Fallback star will be competing against Brazil's Julio Andrade, France's Kad Merad, and Oscar-nominated actor Kenneth Branagh for the top iEmmys acting category.
The winners will be announced on November 20 in New York.
Zanjoe’s nod follows Jodi Sta. Maria’s nomination under the Best Performance by an Actress category last year. Jodi, however, failed in her bid to bag the honor for her performance as the iconic Amor Powers in Pangako Sa’Yo.
