Ylona Garcia participated in the Now United boot camp, which was organized by producer Simon Fuller, in the US a few weeks ago. The teen singer is now back in the Philippines armed with lessons and experiences from the training.
‘[I learned there] to just be you as a person, know who you are and do what makes you feel comfortable. And also I learn naman just be you I guess, just be you lang talaga,” she said.
Ylona expressed how elated she is for her ka-love team Bailey May who was chosen to be an official member of Now United, the first ever global pop group composed of 11 exceptional artists from 11 different countries.
“Sobrang masaya po ako para sa kanya kasi Bailey and I are really close friends and this is one of the things na gusto niya talaga so I’m very happy naman for him. He works hard and he really pushed sa dancing kasi sabi niya sa akin, ‘Hindi talaga ako dancer’ tapos at least ‘yung mga effort niya, he really pushed it talaga and look where he is now? [it’s] just really great,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Ylona has also something to be proud of because she will be headlining a solo concert titled Arrival on October 21 at the Music Museum.
Ylona considers it as one of the highlights of her career. Asked if she is pressured staging the concert, she replied, “Medyo, pero of course excited naman po ako. Pero I guess nandon ‘yung pressure and of course nerves pero it’s good to have nerves kasi it means na you want to do good for the audience.”
Looking back on her journey in showbiz, Ylona remarked that making a career here in the Philippines is truly a big accomplishment for her.
“Everything is just a bonus, a blessing and it’s something which I worked hard for naman which is great. Just being feeling loved naman [by fans], that’s also one of the greatest accomplishments,” she stated.
