Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan is known for acing the maximalist fashion game nowadays, with her striking blonde box braids complemented by edgy, rocker outfits.
However, not all people are appreciative, like one of her Instagram followers who bashed her for her “exaggerated” look, saying that she already looks like a “scarecrow.”
The ASAP regular took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the screenshot of the said argument and captioned, “N.E.V.E.R ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE TO TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE, WHO YOU SHOULD BE, WHAT YOU SHOULD LOOK LIKE (sic).”
The proud Davaoeña songstress politely replied by commenting, “I appreciate your concern na gusto (mo na) simple (ako). But unfortunately, im a maximalist pag-abot sa pag-style sa sarili ko as a performer and as a singer.”
She told her not to compare her with Sarah Geronimo, Angeline Quinto, or Klarisse de Guzman.
“I want to be myself,” she said. “And being myself is expressing what I feel, in my music and in my style,” KZ stressed.
“I’d understand if I’m not the artist na gusto mo, but stop telling people who they should be, what they should look like,” she added.
Moreover, KZ wished that the basher’s children won’t be treated that way and warned her to stop calling her supporters “Kunatay”.
Despite the painful remarks, KZ still concluded her rebuttal with a greeting, “Good day!”
KZ is known for the songs “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako” and her rendition of the classics “Wag Ka Nang Umiyak” and “Two Less Lonely People In The World.” She rose to stardom after being named the grand winner in X-Factor Philippines.
