Bela Padilla has added another feather to her cap as the script she wrote is making it to the big screen. The Kapamilya star penned the script for Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga’s upcoming movie Last Night.
‘For this one, purely imagination. I did it from scratch, wala namang inspiration. But when I decided na ‘yung script will take place in Manila, I really went around. I wrote a few scenes while eating at Cafe Adriatico, may mga ganon,’ Bela relayed about how she came up with the story.
She shared that the theme of the movie is dark romantic-comedy. She remarked that dark-themed stories is one of her favorite genres. ‘Even when I read, I am more attracted to books that are a little bit darker, may theme na suspense, thriller. So the trend for today nga is rom-com na real, I still wanted to inject I guess something that inspires me para masulat ko siya ng maayos,’ she stated.
In an interview with Last Night’s lead star Toni Gonzaga, the actress was all praises about the script. She shared that the script of Bela made her decide to do the movie. She added that it also moved her to tears.
‘Actually si PJ (Piolo) ‘yung unang nakabasa ng script talaga tapos tumawag siya sa akin [sabi] ‘may ipapabasa ako sa‘yo, tingnan mo kung magugustuhan.’ Tapos I think two days after hindi ko pa siya nababasa hanggang nasa taping ako one time tinext niya ako, ‘nabasa mo na?’ Toni said.
Asked about her reaction to Toni’s comment about her work, Bella remarked, ‘Natutuwa ako siyempre pero umpisa pa lang nakakadalaw din naman ako sa set tsaka si direk Joyce din ‘yung isa sa mga unang bumasa ng script so bago pa nagkaroon ng cast, bago pa anything, binigay ko na siya kay direk Joyce, [sabi ko] ikaw na bahala kung ano ang gusto mong gawin diyan.’ I am very happy na ito nga ‘yung team na gumawa kasi nobody could have played it better tsaka nobody could have directed it better,’
