Elmo Magalona bluntly addressed rumors insinuating that he was dragging his current love team partner Janella Salvador to the wrong side.
Janella's mother, Jenine Desiderio, hogged headlines last month following her loaded tweets about her daughter's supposed stubbornness.
While there were those who rallied to Janella's side, there were those who presumed that Elmo wasn't a "good influence" on the young actress.
"I just want to say, as much as possible, tina-try ko talaga maging magandang influence kay Janella," he said in an interview with PEP.
“Whatever happens, I’m just there for her,” he added.
Some fans even went as far as bashing Elmo because of the incident.
“Marami naman talagang bashers, maraming haters. But, at the end of the day, kapag binigyan mo sila ng pansin, yun ang gusto nila eh," explained the Bloody Crayons star.
Contrary ro what people think, Elmo pointed out that he has been especially focused on himself.
“Yun nga, I’m trying to be a good influence to Janella,” he said.
For what it's worth, Elmo underscored that he's also saddened by what happened. He also emphasized that such "catfights" can be resolved in the long run.
“Siyempre pag naapektuhan si Janella, naaapektuhan din ako as her partner and as her love team. Sana matapos na ito," he ended.
Elmo and Janella are set to star on their first solo big screen project titled My Fairy Tail Love Story.
