Dionne Monsanto admits her dream is to make it into Hollywood

After making her mark as the devious Lucy who made life hell for Cristine Reyes in last year’s afternoon drama Tubig at Langis, Dionne Monsanto revealed she once again shows off her feistiness as Lovi Poe’s rival model in the comedy Woke Up Like This.

Apart from that, Dionne also recently finished a film adapted from a manga.

“I just got back from Japan. It’s a Japanese-Filipino collaboration and I was there for more three weeks and then I studied Japanese. My lines were in Japanese! Wala pang title. Hopefully it will be released here,” she shares during the Woke Up Like This blogcon held last August 10 in Quezon City.

The 31-year-old actress also shared that one of her goals in life was to take a chance and try her luck in Hollywood. But she has yet to formally apply for auditions or get an agent abroad.

“Not yet but I’m putting my reel together. But hopefully I’ll try next year. It’s a real long shot but I really want to try. I would rather try and fail than not try at all. It’s a long shot but it’s one of my hopes and wishes,” she divulged.

Dionne said she will start applications by next year while she’s in the US.

“Since magbabakasyon din naman ako next year I’m going there so why not di ba? Last year I was like, ‘You know what? Why not di ba?’”

The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate also shared which of the Hollywood actresses admires and hopes to follow the same career path.

“Ang hirap to say that but I’ve always loved and admired Charlize Theron from Sweet November pa way back in the 90s and grabe din yung progression ng career niya. Also I love how Eva Green’s career, how she started with The Dreamers and all that up to how she is now,” she added.
