Billy Crawford belied rumors that he and Ogie Alcasid had a disagreement following his selection as Little Big Shots host.
The international singer is hosting the upcoming kiddie talent-talk show Little Big Shots, which is set to start airing this Saturday (August 12) and Sunday (August 13) on ABS-CBN.
Aside from Billy, Ogie also auditioned to host the said show.
“Wala akong masabi kay Kuya Ogie. Sobrang humble, sobrang bait ni Kuya Ogie. Kasi nung in-announce na nila sa akin na napunta sa akin yung programa, ang unang nag-text sa akin, si Kuya Ogie,” he revealed in an interview during the show’s special media screening.
Billy continued, “Sabi niya, ‘Bro, I’m happy for you. I’m so proud of you. I will always be right here behind you anytime you need me.’”
According to Billy, he too was surprised that he was chosen by Warner Bros after auditioning to host the local version of the show.
Billy revealed that he auditioned for the show solo. He even shared that he only learned that Ogie also auditioned for the same spot later on.
“Hindi namin alam na pareho kaming nag-audition, to be honest. Nung sinabi lang sa akin, ‘Mag-audition ka. May bagong programa,’” he shared.
He continued, “I think one day ahead si Kuya Ogie. Oo, nauna si Kuya Ogie.”
In the end, the It’s Showtime host emphasized that he has nothing but respect for the seasoned singer-songwriter.
“Si Kuya Ogie, simula bata pa lang ako, kilala ko na si Kuya Ogie. It’s nothing about competition talaga... I’m still shocked na napunta nga sa akin. Pero wala akong masabi kay Kuya Ogie,” he ended.
Reports had it that Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who is a huge Steve Harvey fan, was saddened by the fact that her husband failed to get the project.
Little Big Shots is an American talent show co-created by Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey, with international adaptations distributed by Warner Bros.
