Will Derek Ramsay return to ABS-CBN next year?

Hunky actor Derek Ramsay was quick to clarify that he is not yet in talks with any other network now, following rumors of the expiration of his TV5 contract next year.

“You know there’s ano, there’s hearsay na o dito ka na. Pero nothing na seryoso. I think it would be very disrespectful for me to entertain other offers,” he said in an interview with PEP.

It was no secret that the former Kapamilya star experienced some problems when he left ABS-CBN seven years ago.

But, according to him, everything’s been sorted out between him and his former network.

“Nag-movie na nga kami ni Coleen [Garcia]. May project kaming naka-line-up ni Bea [Alonzo]. Nag-guesting na ko sa GGV [Gandang Gabi Vice], nag-guesting na ko kay Kuya Boy [Abunda],” he said.

“So, hindi na ko banned sa ABS[-CBN],” Derek added with a laugh.

Now that his contract with the network is about to end, is there a possibility for him to return to ABS-CBN?

“Again, I can’t say. TV5 is my priority. Lahat ng mga projects na binigay nila sa akin is because hindi lang ito ang naisip nila na si Derek na lang ang natitirang artista, sa kanya na lang natin ibigay,” he said.

Derek happily emphasized that his current home network has always given premium to his inclinations.

“It’s like, alam nating gusto ni Derek ang ganitong project, i-offer natin sa kanya. I’m still giving the opportunity to decline. Pero yung mga inoffer nila, gusto ko. So, tinatanggap,” he said.

“I was never forced to do a project in TV5,” the hunky star added.

Derek shared that a new show is currently in the works for him even if his contract with TV5 is set to end by April 2018.

“Probably we’ll start talk January and find out where will going. Parang ganun din ang nangyari sa akin, kasi my first contract was three years. We started talking noong January, alam ko na kung saan ako pupunta,” said Derek.

He also underscored that this current network appreciates what he can bring to them, which is why he doesn’t have any regrets about transferring whatsoever.

“None at all,” he said.

Derek wasn’t the only one who transferred to TV5 in the past. Even Megastar Sharon Cuneta and master composer Ogie Alcasid also went to the network before they moved to ABS-CBN.
