Many viewers have been impressed by Tony Labrusca’s performance as “Jake” in the hit primetime series La Luna Sangre. Tony has also been amassing his own legion of fans who have been expressing their kilig on social media every time he appears on TV. But there is still more to his good looks and acting skills. Here are five things you need to know about Tony:
1. He is a gymnast
Outside of showbiz, Tony is very athletic and does gymnastics. The actor has been training hard for the sport for numerous years. “The thing about gymnastics ikaw lang isa eh so you have no one else to rely on except yourself. You’ve got to shed sweat, blood, and tears for this sport but at the end of the day it is very rewarding pag-gumagaling ka. ‘Yun naman ang sobrang love ko dito,” he told Sports U in an interview.
2. Both his parents are part of show business. His mom Angel Jones was a singer in the ‘90s international hip-hop group Kulay. His dad is actor Boom Labrusca.
Traveling teaches you so many valuable lessons. How to think for yourself, resourcefulness, dealing with different cultures, learning history. It expands your thinking and your comfort zone. It also can test a relationship. Especially for people like us who's been traveling non stop to different cities and countries for weeks. But most of all, traveling teaches you about yourself and your capabilities, that the world is so beautiful and vast and it's a shame to live with such small dreams. We had a great experience in Doha Qatar. Thank you to the team that brought us here and the fans for such a warm welcome. Hope to see you soon.
3. He used to be a barber in Canada. If ever show business will not work out, he plans to continue being a barber. “If I ever stop performing, I’d probably be a barber. I was actually a barber back in Vancouver. If not that, I would go full force to train to be a pro Tekken player. I’m not kidding!” he told Inquirer in an interview.
4. He loves the beach that is why his nickname is “Sharky”. If time permits, Tony spends his day in the water.
5. He starred in a fast food chain commercial alongside Elisse Joson. He played the ex-boyfriend of Elisse’s character in the commercial.
