With her group concert 4 of a Kind finally happening at the Music Museum this weekend, Sue Ramirez admitted she is excited to finally get the chance to showcase her vocal talent on a bigger stage. “My first love is singing. I actually auditioned for Star Magic as a singer nga pero mas nabigyan ako ng break sa acting that I never knew na kaya kong gawin. So na-enjoy ko naman ng sobra at natutunan kong mahalin yung craft. And medyo nawala ako dun sa musical side ko that I had when I was younger. So ito na yung perfect na opportunity to get back to my musical side, to get back to my first love. I started singing when I was really young. Singing talaga gusto ko pero mas nabigyan ako ng maraming breaks sa acting that’s why recently ko lang linabas yung singing side ko,” she said.
In 4 of a Kind, Sue will be performing with fellow Star Magic talents Kristel Fulgar, Loisa Andalio, and Maris Racal with whom she doesn’t mind sharing the stage. “Iba-iba kami ng genre so hindi talaga siya magiging concert na may sapawan dahil iba-iba kaming forte at strengths. And siyempre nagkaroon din kami ng common ground, meron kaming production numbers na sama sama kami. So it’s going to be equally divided to the four of us. Ang goal sa concert na ito hindi sapawan kundi mag-enjoy at makapag-bigay ng magandang performance at mapag-enjoy yung mga manunuod namin,” she explained.
Even though she’s turning 21 this year, Sue said she is still not looking to be in a relationship even after rumored to be dating Ronnie Alonte last year. The Hashtags member even brought her to his hometown in Laguna where she met his family but Sue dismisses this as just a close platonic friendship. “Wala naman talagang namagitan sa amin at all. We were good friends and yun lang. Gusto lang talaga namin na magkatrabaho kami kasi sobrang swak yung ugali namin,” she says.
When asked who is her showbiz crush, Sue didn’t hesitate to declare that she has only one big crush on a fellow Kapamilya. “Sa akin si Zanjoe [Marudo] (laughs). Mabuting kaibigan ko si Ronnie (Alonte). We’re good friends and siguro it’s not my priority right now to look for love or be in a relationship. Parang focused muna ako sa career ko and yun nga mag-focus kay Zanjoe (laughs) na pinapangarap ko,” she joked.
Apart from being seen in the new Primetime Bida series La Luna Sangre, Sue said she is also busy shooting a new film along with Miles Ocampo. “I’m doing a movie under Regal Films and the title is Debutantes. It’s a horror thriller film. Nasa shooting lang ako kagabi kayang sobrang sabaw ko ngayon kaya hindi ako makasagot ng maayos. Alas-tres na kami na-pack up. Wala kaming leading men. It’s something new naman for Filipinos na kami kami lang,” she explained.
