Former Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 housemate Aura Azarcon is now back in medical school. Aura has been sharing snapshots of her journey as a medical intern on her Instagram account. Aura is currently doing her OB (obstetrician) rotation. The former housemate has also been posting YouTube blogs to chronicle her life as an intern.

Doing spinal anesthesia on a patient for caesarian section under the very close supervision of my #anesthesiology residents. 😎😎 Shempre in this pic parang ang galing galing ko??! Hahaha. The truth is I used to be so hesitant in touching any bony protrusions and poking needles like huhuhu ugh eeeooow. BUT I got over myself eventually. This is actually super exciting! Kaya tama na inarte, go na sa trabaho!! . . My next #vlog will be all about getting over your EXCUSES as to why you're not pursuing med school - even if you say it's always been your dream to become a doctor. To be uploaded tomorrow Sat 12 NN on my Youtube channel (Aura Azarcon). πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ . . . . #scrubslife #medicine #OBGyne #medicalstudent #medicalschool #medstudent #medschool #futureMD

This is a picture of me with my (favorite) OB resident who let me close the incision on our CS patient. HEHEHE thank you Doc Dexy!! :) . . #doktAURA mode ulit. Did you know that there are only a few medical indications for a caesarian section? As much as possible, we encourage mothers to give birth naturally via spontaneous vaginal delivery. It's better for the mother (faster recovery post-partum and less risk for complications) and even better for the baby (passing through the small vaginal canal squeezes the fluids out of their lungs and helps them breathe better once they're outside!) And in our public hospital, the super mommies endure that grueling labor in admittedly uncomfortable circumstances, all without epidurals/anesthesia! . . I'm almost done with my OB rotation and honestly, this has been my favorite rotation so far. Mostly because I got to carry healthy newborns in the delivery room and assist moms when latching the baby for the first time - both not part of the job description but I can't help it. Kaya ko kayang mag-opera at mag-flower arrangement na lang din???? Ano na! One day, one day πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ #daretoshareigchallenge
