Nadine Lustre on ‘live-in’ issue with James Reid: ‘Hindi naman ako affected’

After renewing her ties with Sony Philippines as the celebrity endorser for digital imaging and personal audio lines, Nadine Lustre said she will be busy this year going back to her musical roots. “Ngayon maraming plano. So nag-start na ako actually. Back to music. Definitely original (music) pero baka next year pa, matagal-tagal pa kasi kaka-start ko pa lang,” she shared during the Sony Philippines presscon held last July 13 in Quezon city.

When asked if this means acting would be taking a backseat, Nadine said she wants to focus her energies on a lot of things including hosting. “Ano kasi kasama na din diyan yung [it’s] Showtime kasi before hindi ko naman nagagawang mag-host pero ngayon hosting na rin so siguro papantayin ko. Since regular na ako sa Showtime and then may actingan din this year pero bawal pang sabihin and then music nga. Na-mi-miss kong umarte (laughs). Kung TV or movies, basta pag-arte talaga,” she admitted.

The Sony Philippines brand ambassador credits her It’s Showtime family for supporting her in the show. Yung mga games namin at saka siyempre tawanan, kulitan, enjoy,” she says. Unlike her love team partner James Reid who is only scheduled to perform there once a week, Nadine said she will be seen on the popular noontime show everyday.

During a recent interview with TV Patrol, Nadine was asked to comment on rumors that she was already living in with James to which she gave controversial replies. But she said she is used to the mixed reactions online to her statements. Basta nasabi ko na yung dapat kong sabihin the last time. Iwan na natin sa ganun. Kasi kami naman ni James, kami talaga ayaw namin as much as possible yung nagtatago or nag-la-lie sa kung sa ano man yung nangyayari sa amin. But then siyempre kasi yung mga ibang bagay naman na yan parang hindi na naman kailangan i-broadcast or sabihin pa sa iba. Parang sa amin na lang yun. Parang ganun,” she explained.

The talented artist said she is also confident her family would have her back no matter what people may think of her recent statements. “Yung parents ko naman and my relatives they know me naman talaga. I don’t hide anything from them so basta sila, basta okay ka, okay kami,” she added.

Nadine also said getting married and starting a family is the furthest thing from her mind right now. Not yet. Not until ma-achieve ko na lahat ng gusto ko,” she said.
