How Mitoy Yonting found his way out of Resorts World Manila amid tragedy

It’s Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan” hurado Mitoy Yonting was performing at a bar inside Resorts World Manila when the attack happened early Friday, June 2 at past 12 midnight.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Mitoy narrated that he was singing with his band at Bar 360, located in the ground floor, when the incident took place on the second floor. He then saw people running down.

However, the shooting got louder that they returned inside the building and searched for another way out. They were able to exit at the Duty Free area and headed to the nearby Villamor Air Base.

Tapos ni-lock nila 'yung gate.”

'Yung gitara, mga gadget, nandoon pa talaga," he said, adding that they were able to go home past two in the morning.

With his experience, Mitoy advised people to always be alert and aware of their surroundings.

I mean may sniper, nagpapakamatay para makapangdisgrasya, makapangdamay. Siguro sabi ko pwedeng maging praning pero in a good way na 'yung alerto ka.

According to reports, there were at least 37 casualties including the gunman in the Resort World Manila tragedy.
