Piolo Pascual was beaming with pride over the latest achievement of his son Inigo Pascual on the Billboard Philippines Top 20 Charts.
Inigo’s single “Dahil Sa’Yo” became the first chart-topper on the said hit chart.
The Ultimate Heartthrob was very proud of that feat and took his happiness to Instagram.
"I’m so happy, grabe! This kind of milestone, it’s going to go down the history books of the music industry. And this is Billboard, so I posted about it,” Piolo said in an interview during his contract signing as the newest ambassador of the Optical Media Board.
Inigo actually commented on the said post and said the he would continuously strive to make his father proud.
“He always says that,” said Piolo as a reaction to the said comment.
“Sometimes I catch him, I tell him, ‘You know, you work too much, you work too hard. Sometimes you need to rest,’" the seasoned star continued.
How did Inigo react to what he said?
“Sabi niya, ‘How can I achieve the kind, level of success that you’ve reached if I don’t work hard?’ Sabi ko, ‘But you’ve got to love yourself more. You’ve got to rest,’” he said.
With that, Piolo realized that his son was already bitten by the “passion bug.”
What’s good is that Piolo is very much supportive of his 19-year-old son’s endeavors.
“Di ko siya ii-stop, as long as I know he’s on the right track. I’m just really inspired by his motivation na yung energy niya, nagagamit niya for a good reason,” he said.
The Good News
Piolo claimed that he was the first one with whom Inigo shared the good news.
“My son messaged me right away and said, ‘Is it okay to cry?’" he quoted Inigo as saying.
To this Piolo said, “'Yeah, dude, you have to bask in it. It’s not something you asked for and it’s not out of votation.’ So, talagang sobra siyang legit.”
The Billboard Top 20 Charts was ranked based on the figures from Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and sales data from Apple iTunes.
The ASAP mainstay is convinced that this latest feat is going to bring good things to his son’s career.
“And sabi ko sa kanya, ‘This is going to be good for you. I hope it encourages you to just make more music,’” he said.
In the end, Piolo emphasized that more than being his father, he is Inigo’s biggest fan. “I’m his biggest fan and I’m really happy it’s going to go down inhistory,” he said.
