Since his break up last February, I Can Do That host Robi Domingo admitted he is still going through a rough patch after reaching a mutual decision to call it quits with Gretchen Ho.
“Why would I lie eh totoo naman na may nangyayari. If you are asking me about the breakup it’s not just that eh. So many things are happening in my life, mapa-work, mapa-personal. Kasi siyempre hindi naman mawawala ang problema. The problems in life are there. The thing is you just have to have a good disposition and kailangan mo lang ng oras na i-sort out yung things sa buhay mo,” he said during the Watsons Philippines Bro Boot Camp event held last June 15 at a mall in Ortigas.
During a recent interview, Gretchen also divulged she is going through a difficult time, to which Robi said is perfectly understandable. “Masakit naman talaga. We had a long, long talk before and I’m just really happy that she is taking it well. I know she is abrave, tough girl pero she is taking it all well. We don’t (talk).
“It’s a choice kasi when we put the strings again baka ma-attach na naman kami eh. So ito yung mga lessons in life na nature sa akin ng buhay ko with my previous relationships na kailangan ko kunin ngayon na ina-apply ko and at the same time, we don’t text but we usually see each other once a week because of the show University Town so kailangan namin ng konting rapport,” he explained.
When asked about his emotional video message to Gretched aired during the Binibining Pilipinas last month, Robi wanted to clarify what really happened during the pageant. “What happened in Binibini, it wasn’t my intention to have it aired kasi I was out of the country during that time. Number two it was taped mga last week of February pa and I didn’t know she was going to be a judge. So, what happened was the discretion talaga ng producers.
“I don’t know about the director kasi si Mr. M tinanong ko hindi daw siya yun eh. Yung mga producers siguro and I think I she knew what happened back then eh,” he shared.
Robi admitted he is still not closing his doors to a possible reconciliation in the future with Gretchen. “It depends with the situation. It depends with everything actually, timing, situation, and it depends with what happens and in our case, possible.”
The Kapamilya host also took time to put to rest the persistent rumors linking him to Sandara Park. “Hindi naman ako dapat magulat kasi wala naman talagang nangyayari. Let me just say this please just enough with the whole idea kasi nahihiya na ako sa tao eh,” he insisted.
The 27-year-old host also said he is thankful to have the support of his family and friends during this challenging time in his life. “Number one family, the support system is there. Number two friends and number three is me time. You have to have some moments for yourself eh. To think about stuff that happened, that is happening and stuff that will happen in the future.
“I’m really thankful na may work ako sa ABS-CBN. Yun talaga malaking bagay para mawala yung iniisip ko. Number two I’ve been playing basketball a lot lately, number three I run a lot and I watch K-dramas (laughs) Goblin, mga ganun. Medyo nakakaasar na kasi ang ganda ni Eun-tak eh (laughs),” he added.
The Belo Men endorser, who shared his grooming secrets during the Watsons event, also commented that looking good is one of his secrets to feeling positive about life right now. “It’s one of the secrets ‘di ba? Our tag line is look good effortlessly and if you see that I’m looking great, kahit na may pinagdadaanan, eh di good.”
Robi said even his dad tries to lighten up his mood with some advice, “Sinabi niya, ‘Pinagdaanan ko rin yan anak. Mahirap talaga maging guwapo’ (laugh).”
