Aiko Melendez: ‘Maja is one of the best actresses that we have in her generation’

Aiko Melendez has been extremely delighted about the success of Wildflower. She said that televiewers should expect more exciting scenes in the series in weeks to come.“We’re all very happy, ‘yung lahat ng pinaghirapan namin, lahat ng pinagpaguran namin, may hinatnang maganda. For season 2, it’s gonna be bolder, wilder at tsaka sobrang lahat kami fierce,” she shared.The actress commended the show’s lead star Maja Salvador. As their scenes get more intense, Aiko shared the secret to their laudable confrontation performances.“I’ve always been open since our first week in Wildflower that Maja is one of the best actresses that we have in her generation and you know I have maintained a good relationship with her on and off the camera, we’re friends. So after heavy scenes pinag-uusapan talaga namin kung ‘Anong atake ang gusto mo dito?’ and then pinag-uusapan namin lahat, that’s the reason why it became so effective and after ng cut we’re friends, we laugh together, we do stuff together,” she stated.Now that her son Andre is also in show business, Aiko hopes to work with him in the future too. “I would want to do an MMK with him and that’s the reason why nong nagkaroon ako ng workshop, Andre was one of my students para ma-break din namin ‘yung wall namin as mother and son and ‘yung ilang niya sa akin, to act with me, na-break namin,” Aiko relayed.The actress gave her son some important advice in order to thrive in the industry just like her.“I always told him to remain humble. Having parents like me and Jomari (Yllana) is not easy because a lot of people expect so much from him so I told him you know he is in good hands with Star Magic and Ogie Diaz to prove himself and make his name on his own. And eventually since he is in good hands I know God will guide Him in this journey,” she said.
