After entering showbiz as part of the 2015 hit remake of Pangako Sa ‘Yo where she auditioned for the role of Bea Bianca, Sarah Carlos admitted it’s only this year that she can really focus on her acting career. “I feel like school was holding me back. I feel like everyone will agree when I say that kung nasimulan mo na kasi yung college parang you have this internal feeling of wanting to finish it. I was full-time with school the first four years in college and then bigla ako naging Bea Bianca tapos dun ako medyo nag-take ng leave of absence. Pero sa awa naman ng Diyos natapos ko yung college ko so I’m happy,” she shared during the SM Beauty Pro Card launch held in Makati city.
Sarah said she is also looking forward to taking her board exams. “I’m done na with B.S Accountancy so I will be focusing on my boards. But apart from that, since I don’t have the restriction of school time na, I’m going to try to go full throttle na sa pag-aartista by doing auditions and hosting events. And I also want to tackle social media influencing. But I know I still have a lot to learn, I’m nowhere near the expert bloggers so I’m still learning,” she admitted.
Despite her choice of course in college, Sarah said it’s not all about mathematics. “That’s the biggest misconception people have of accountancy that you have to be good in math. I feel like accountancy is more on analysis. Like we’re good at analyzing things when it comes to business financial statements and sound business decisions. The thing with us accountants kasi tinutulungan namin yung mga business owners to make the minimum mistakes possible para hindi sila mahirapan sa financial,” she explained.
After taking the board, Sarah said she is undecided if she will be a practicing accountant. “I really don’t know. Tinatapos ko lang lahat ng mga sinimulan ko. Yan yung ginagawa ko ngayon. Especially in terms of my college kasi sinimulan ko yung accountancy so gusto ko tapusin, gusto ko siyang gawing full circle by becoming an accountant,” she added.
After ending her stint as a MYX VJ last year, she admitted she misses being part of the MYX family. “I’m no longer with MYX but I miss them everyday of course. Right now I’m currently courtside reporting for NCAA so I’ll see if hopefully I’ll still do that for them next season,” she admitted.
