Why is Jodi Sta. Maria very eager to go back to school?

Maria shocked the press when she revealed that she’s set to go back to school soon.During the press conference of her upcoming film Dear Other Self opposite Xian Lim and Joseph Marco on Friday, May 5, Jodi shared the reason behind her decision.“It’s something na hindi ko nagawa ng deretso kasi. I graduated high school 2010. And now, I’m pursuing another course and hopefully in two and a half years, matapos ko siya,” said Jodi.Jodi is set to pursue a pre-med course in order to eventually get into med school, which has been her lifelong dream.Jodi used to take up Biology despite her tight schedule with her 2014 soap Be Careful With My Heart.But what’s motivating the 34-year-old star to still pursue her studies?“I think it’s also because partly I am motivated by my being a mother,” she said.“I really want to put a premium on education, it’s because I have a son and I want to be able to set a good example,” she further said. Jodi’s unico hijo Thirdy Lacson is now 12 years old.While she did not give enough details about her upcoming return to the academe, Jodi would have to juggle her career and her studies soon enough as she is also set to star in a soap with Richard Yap and Robin Padilla.Catch Jodi’s first project with Xian and Joseph under the direction of Roni Velasco in cinemas nationwide starting May 17.
