A clip from the Wednesday episode of "Asia’s Next Top Model" went viral after Indonesia's bet Clara Tan confronted Filipino-British Maureen Wroblewitz of the Philippines.
“You know what? For Top 6 you don’t deserve to be here,” Clara said.
“That’s what you think,” Maureen responded.
“So why do you think you deserve to be here? Because of your pretty face but no skills?” Clara asked.
“Well that’s not your decision to make. Everyone deserves to be here, I wouldn’t like come up to anyone and just say, ‘Oh, you don’t deserve to be here,’” Maureen replied.
"I want to compete with strong models, you only have a pretty face but no skills," Clara and Malaysian candidate Shikin Gomez agreed.
Maureen might have brushed the naysayer’s comments but it did affect her a bit during their next photo shoot.
"I just blanked out. I had ideas and I just had to do it but I just . . . overthink," she told the camera.
Nonetheless, she was able to pull off after photographer Yu Tsai gave her a little push, making her win the week's Best Photo.
"I was so impressed by you. Your face came laser-focused. At one point I didn’t say anything, I just had to shut up. You have what it takes to be an amazing, amazing model," the photographer said.
As for Clara, she and her fellow Indonesian bet Veronika Krasnasari landed in the bottom two, and the latter eventually got eliminated. With Maureen’s win, she is now at the Top 5 of the competition.
