On Tonight with Boy Abunda, one of the lead stars of the upcoming film Dear Other Self, Jodi Sta. Maria, shared how it is raising her son, Thirdy.
“Tito Boy, pinapalaki ko siya ng unang-una, may takot sa Diyos because naniniwala ako na when you fear God, everything else will follow. Lalaki ka ng tama. And hindi ko siya pinapalaki ng spoiled. Kung kailangang may mga bagay ako na hindi muna ibigay sa kanya sa panahon ngayon or kung may mga hinihingi siya na sa palagay kong hindi makakabuti sa kanya, hindi ko ibinibigay.”
She added, “Next to God, he is the most important person in my life, Tito Boy. He is someone that I cannot live without.”
Thirdy recently graduated from grade school and Jodi shared, “Parang ako ‘yung kinakabahan. Parang ako ‘yung ga-graduate.”
Jodi also disclosed her plans to go back to college. “Yes, finally. Wow. After what, seven years? And I know that God has been opening doors for me to be able to finish what I’ve started. And in 2010 kasi, Tito Boy, I finished my high school and right away I jumped into college. Pero naging sobrang hirap ‘yung pagsabayin ‘yung pag-aaral at pag-aartista and it really took a toll on my health.”
The actress is now looking forward to graduating in about a couple of years’ time. “I was able to find a school na mayroon silang home-study school program na fit talaga for people working full-time like me. God willing, in two and a half years I’ll be getting my diploma.”
During the segment Fast Talk, when asked if she’s hoping to work with Richard Yap again, she hastily replied, “Yes.”
