Metro magazine featured the country’s top young stars on its cover for its recent issue. It became viral online and was highly applauded by netizens. It was a remake of the magazine’s cover years ago which also featured the country’s biggest young actresses back then.
For Kathryn Bernardo, being part of the cover was an opportunity of a lifetime. “Yung the whole experience super okay siya kasi alam natin ‘yung cover na ‘yun remake and very honored kami na maging part non and masaya kami sa naging outcome,” she said.
Another cover girl Julia Barretto said that more than being pressured, she is in deep gratitude to be given the chance to be part of it. “It’s more being thankful and flattered because we are given the opportunity to do something that they did so parang we just took the opportunity and the chance and give it our best for the cover,” Julia stated.
With ongoing comparisons of the cover girls which were instigated by some netizens, Kathryn stressed that every girl is unique and that there is no need to pit them against each other.
“Kasi kami magkakaiba ‘yung personality namin apat and pati ‘yung ibang girls. Personally hindi ko rin siya pinapakinggan masyado basta ako ang importante ay wala kang nasasagasaan, wala kang nao-offend,” Kathryn said.
Julia agreed saying that they might be in the same industry but they have different paths and destinies. “More than anything we just focus on our own projects and our own jobs and more than anything we are just happy for each other,” she remarked.
With the many spoofs of their cover, Kathryn revealed what she likes the most. “Ako ‘yung favorite ko ‘yung mga student nurses. Nilagay nila metro na medicine ‘yun di ba? So nagaya nila lahat pati ‘yung expression and then ‘yung hands. May mga bekis, mga students din so thank you so much sa lahat ng nag-effort,” Kathryn shared.
