Gimme 5 is back with a new album called ‘Sophomore’.
With the rise of a new boy band in the Philippines, Gimme 5 member Nash Aguas stressed that he does not see them as competition. The teen star even reminded the members of his own group to remain focused on their journey and avoid comparing themselves to others.
“Since mas matagal na ako sa showbiz, since bata pa ako, ang sinasabi ko sa [mga ka-group ko] huwag silang makipag-kompentensya, kumbaga huwag nilang isipin na ‘uy may ganitong boyband kailangan mas magaling tayo, kailangan mas okay, kailangan mas stylish tayo or something.’ Sinasabi ko mas importante na ini-enjoy mo ‘yung ginagawa mo tsaka ginagalingan namin everytime.
“Kumbaga ‘yung sa mga paligid namin di namin gaano pinapansin basta masaya kami, ginagalingan namin, binibigay namin ang best namin iyon ‘yung mahalaga,” he said in an interview with the press at the launching of their new album called Sophomore.
Nash also explained the reason behind Gimme 5’s brief hiatus from the spotlight. He explained, “Kumbaga natigil lang po ‘yung album tour parang nawala pero simula pa po last year namin binubuo ‘tong album so at least di po talaga kami nawala kumbaga nagwo-work kami para don sa panibagong album.”
Besides his upcoming tour with Gimme 5 for their Sophomore album, Nash will also star in a new teleserye which will showcase a different side of him as an actor.
“’Yung bago ko pong teleserye sa Kailangan Mo Ako mas seryoso in a sense na mas may depth po ‘yung character ko don kasi ‘yun po ‘yung kumbaga everytime na gumagawa ako ng character, gusto ko may mas lalim. Kumbaga bagong Nash ang makikita niyo don,” he revealed.
