Alexa Ilacad says her dream role is Marimar: ‘I want to be an award-winning actress’

<img src='' alt='050917-AlexaIlacad_PUSH.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Even after launching her debut album last year, Alexa Ilacad said she will not totally give up on acting to focus on a singing career. “Actually no naman kasi I’m still doing some projects like kakatapos ko lang mag-MMK. Pero napagsasabay ko naman siya it’s just that mas amdaming shows and opportunities ngayon sa aking album. I want to be an award-winning actress and an award-winning singer so gusto ko mga ganung level sana. And gusto ko sana maging parang mala-Ms. Gina Pareño, yung ganun katagal yung career kasi itong acting and singing love ko talaga. I don’t see it as work and gusto ko siya habang buhay kung puwede,” she shared.The 17-year-old actress is also currently working on the upcoming teleserye Kung Kailangan Mo Ako with Janella Salvador, Elmo Magalona, Elisse Joson, McCoy De Leon, and Joshua Garcia. But she admitted that she does have one ultimate role in her bucket list. “Siguro I would love to remake Marimar sa ABS-CBN siyempre and any challenging role like may dual personality or something like Rubi na bida kontrabida, something like that,” she admitted.Doing multiple things like school and showbiz at the same time is a big challenge for the former child star who takes her career very seriously. “Mahirap. Sobrang hirap. Iniiyakan ko yan minsan pag sa bahay pagod na pagod na ako, ayoko na pumasok kinabukasan. Or kaya may show pero yung body ko dead na. Pero gusto ko itong gawin. Pero na-realize ko na kung love mo naman talaga yung ginagawa mo, yun yung reason mo para bumangon sa umaga eh. So kahit gaano kapagod. Lalo na si mommy she’s not so young anymore and na-fi-feel ko yung pagod niya. Kung pagod ako mas pagod siya kasi siya yung umaalalay sa akin, bumibitbit ng gamit ko pag pagod na pagod na ako,” she admitted.Alexa said she has never fully stopped schooling while she was in showbiz. “No, It was never an option for me to give up one. I never wanted to stop school. Sabi ko hindi puwede. Kailangan tuloy tuloy so when I was homeschooled pa before hindi ako ever nag-summer break. Tuloy-tuloy para hindi ako mabakante. At least ngayon nakakahabol naman ako and my school now is super lenient and super understanding with me and hindi naman ako nagkukulang ever sa pagpasa kahit nasa ibang lugar ako gumagawa pa rin ako. So kailangan sipag lang,” she shared.When asked if she was the one who influenced her love team partner Nash Aguas to continue schooling, Alexa gave him full credit for the decision. “Well no, he pushed himself. He’s very dedicated and meron siya talagang goals in life so alam niya to set his goals and he’s very determined to accomplish them. I’m happy naman for him na nakatapos ng first year college,” she added.Alexa said she is the same person whether she’s at school or in front of the camera. “Well I don’t really separate, kung ano ako sa school ganun ako sa showbiz. Nothing changes naman. I don’t need to put a second face or something. Ganun lang. Kung ano yung ugali kunwari pag nainis ako, nainis ako. Hindi ko babaguhin na kailangan pa-demure or anything. I show it talaga,” she added.
