Khalil Ramos on portraying Noven Belleza: ‘I am so inspired’

Their identical journey in the industry aided Khalil in his portrayal of the singer for the upcoming April 22 episode of <a href='http://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/maalaalamokaya/main'>Maalala Mo Kaya</a>.“Lahat naman ng tao may isang pangarap sa buhay na gustong abutin and like Noven, like me, when I was back in the contest, it was all about our passion and that’s what similar between Noven and I. And the story is very inspiring,” he said.Playing the Bacolod-born singer has lead Khalil to the discovery that Noven also joined Pilipinas Got Talent. “[It] is the contest that I was from so sobrang relatable,” he shared.Khalil was deeply moved by Noven’s story especially by his life back in the province before the singer skyrocketed to stardom.“He came from a very simple life back in Bacolod and you know it was challenging for me to fill in his shoes kasi grabe ang respect ko for the agricultural workers in the Philippines. Their work is so hard, nabibilad sila sa init araw-araw and just like Noven may mga pangarap din silang gustong abutin. I am so inspired by his story and I can’t wait to watch it this Saturday,” he enthused.Apart from MMK, Khalil also portrayed an equally moving character in his recent movie 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten. His performance received positive feedback from critics and moviegoers for which Khalil has been very grateful. “Well it is really overwhelming for the team and I. You know we put in so much work into portraying the characters and it felt really good seeing all the people raving about it,” he said.Khalil remarked that the support from the Filipino audience inspires him to constantly evolve. “They continue to motivate me into being better and to learn more about my craft for the years to come," he stated.
