Lee Min Ho and his agency have confirmed rumors that he is indeed enlisting in the South Korean military on April 18.
According to Naver.com, MYM Entertainment, the actor’s management has released an official statement regarding the matter.
“The enlistment date for Lee Min Ho was confirmed today. It is true that he will be starting his military service on May 12 in Gangnam as a social service worker.”
Military enlistment is required for every South Korean male, the reason being the continuous threat of war with North Korea. The Hallyu Wave star will be serving his mandatory two years.
Lee Min Ho has a following in the Philippines, having starred in numerous Korean dramas aired on ABS-CBN including “Boys Over Flowers,” “City Hunter,” and “The Heirs.” His most recent TV series titled “Legend of The Blue Sea” will be airing on the Kapamilya network soon.
