Gerald Anderson on getting Bea Alonzo into sports: ‘Malakas siya walang biro’

Ako hindi ko sinadya. Sobrang suwerte ko talaga ngayon. Napakaganda ng mga projects na ginagawa ko sa TV and yung pagdating sa pagiging celebrity. Ito yung mga gusto kong i-inspire sa mga tao na live a healthy lifestyle and exercise. Hindi naman kailangan na mag-42k marathon but kahit papano mag-exercise, kumain ng tama. Sobrang blessed ako na nasa isang position ako na makapagbigay ako ng ganung klaseng inspiration or motivation,” he told the press. At 27, Gerald revealed he feels more fit now than he was at 21 years old. Gerald hopes he can inspire his fans to get fit as well. “Ito talaga yung pinaka-fit ko. Kasi kapag may gusto ko, gawin mo. Pag dumating yung mga times na you want to quit, just remember why you started. Like may goal ka na gusto mo marating or may gusto ka patunayan sa sarili mo or you just want to get fit. Ganun ka-simple. And then darating yung mga araw na ayaw mo na eh. Darating yung mga oras na ayaw mo na tumayo, ayaw mo suotin yung sapatos mo, ayaw mo tumakbo, but you always have to think bakit mo ginagawa ito and you have a purpose,” he stated. One of his motivations to run has always been his loved ones which Gerald tries his best to encourage to work out with him. “Oh everyone, lahat ng mga kaibigan ko sa bahay, it’s always better na may kasama kang nag-wo-workout so you push each other. Lahat ng kasama ko sa bahay lahat sila fit eh. Kung yung driver ko sumasali na rin sa mga triathlon and yung P.A ko kasama namin tumakbo, yung makeup artist ko tumatakbo din sa mga marathon,” he said. The Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin actor added he has also invited Bea Alonzo to join him during his runs. “Yes nayaya ko na siya. At malakas siyang tumakbo. I think 5k na siya eh. Malakas siya walang biro ah. Malakas talaga siya. I think isa sa mga maganda sa campaign na ito is that I get to inspire different people and sana isa siya sa mga na-inspire ko tumakbo (laughs). Pero dati pa siyang tumatakbo,” he said. Now that the two Kapamilya stars are more open about their closeness, Gerald admitted they have a healthy and supportive relationship on and off camera. “Basta andiyan kayo na suportahan yung isa’t isa. Wala ka namang ginagawang masama and you’re doing this for yourself, may sariling goal ka so basta supportive kayo sa isa’t isa.”
