The Holy Land is a dream destination for anyone in the Christian faith. These celebrities had the opportunity to fulfill that dream and visited the place where Jesus Christ spent His life on Earth according to the Holy Bible.
Jodi Sta. Maria
Actress Jodi Sta. Maria spent the Holy Week together with her closest friends in the Holy Land in March 2016.
In an interview with Bandila, the actress revealed that she once felt empty and found the cure to what she felt in her faith. “Akala ko masasagot nong katanyagan ‘yung emptiness na nasa heart ko. There’s this hole in our heart that only Jesus can fill,” she said.
Jodi’s faith in God has inspired her to visit the Holy Land. She once set foot in the place a few years ago prior to her trip in 2016 but she described the recent on as “life-changing”.
Television host Kris Aquino visited the Holy Land together with her children and close friends in August 2013 to commemorate the fourth death anniversary of her mother, former President Corazon Aquino.
Kris visited Mount Olives, Jerusalem, and Nazareth during her Holy Land pilgrimage.
Ai-Ai Delas Alas
Comedienne-actress Ai Ai Delas Alas visited the Holy Land together with Catholic preacher Bo Sanchez and the rest of the Kerygma ministry in February 2012.
Ai-Ai described the trip as a “soul-searching pilgrimage”. “I wanted to talk to Him. I wanted to be where it all happened, kung saan Siya ipinanganak, kung saan Siya ipinako. I cried all the way, especially at the Wailing Wall,” she shared in an interview with columnist Ricky Lo.
Television host Drew Arellano visited the Holy Land to shoot an episode for his travel show in April 2016. Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, and the Dead Sea were some of the places Drew visited in the Holy Land.
Celebrity and entrepreneur Hayden Kho visited the Holy Land together with Vicki Belo in April of 2014. Petra and the Jordan River were some of the spots they visited. It was also during their Holy Land trip when Hayden reconciled with Bong Revilla.
Joey de Leon
Television host and comedian Joey de Leon toured the Holy Land in March 2014 together with his wife Eileen Macapagal-de Leon. They renewed their baptismal vows at the Jordan River and visited the place where Jesus was born, Bethlehem. They also traveled to the Dead Sea, Petra, and Tel Aviv.
