Gab Valenciano says he is now more careful when it comes to his health.
As part of the first batch of celebrity contestants in the new Kapamilya show I Can Do That,
Gab Valenciano admitted he has been busy training for their weekly challenges along with his co-candidates. “We do train almost everyday if not everyday. That’s a very big factor when it comes to staying fit. And also I am a very active person. I like to run, I like to ride motorcycles. People don’t think that riding makes you lose weight but you’re constantly sweating, you’re constantly maneuvering the bike and that also keeps me very fit. And I also watch what I eat,” he shared during the ABS-CBN trade launch event held last March 30 in Pasay city.
Despite being pegged as one of the strongest and fittest contenders on the show, Gab revealed he did go through a minor health scare last year. Gab’s dad Gary has been battling diabetes for almost four decades now. “Actually last year I was diagnosed already with pre-diabetes. So for mga two years my sugar just kept dropping and dropping and finally my mom convinced me to go to the doctor and when I had myself checked may mga irregularities. So it’s irreversible but it’s manageable. That’s why I always have to make sure I have sugar with me. It’s not the same kind as my dad. It’s a little more mild. Yung sa daddy ko kasi medyo (harder) so I’m not so worried,” he shared.
This coming Holy week, Gab is looking forward to taking a short break to spend some quality time with his family and relatives. “I’m going to be spending it maybe in Batangas with my family kasi my tita from the States is coming so we’re going to be taking her around,” he said.
