Baste Duterte admits he won’t be in showbiz for a long-term career

030417-BasteDuterte_PUSH.jpgSebastian “Baste” Duterte recently made headlines because of his colorful love life. In his recent sit-down interview with TV 5’s news chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes on her show ReAksyon, he admitted that he wasn’t really comfortable in front of the cameras and that he just got a lot of attention when his father Rodrigo Duterte became president.

When asked if he’s comfortable with the people scrutinizing his personal life, he said, “Wala rin naman akong magagawa, ito na yung buhay ko.” He also doesn’t consider showbiz as his long-term career.

‘Di ba nung nanalo ‘yung tatay ko bigla akong gumwapo?” the presidential son said.

Baste, who is a graduate of Political Science from Ateneo de Davao University, also admitted that he’s not closing his doors on politics but expressed that he has no interest in it.

Recently, the youngest son of the president was seen smoking in Ellen Adarna’s Instagram post. Some accused him of smoking weed in the clip which both he and Ellen denied. Ellen clarified that it’s just a cigarette from Japan.

“Wala naman talagang nagbago [sa akin]. Yung nagbago lang kasi napapansin ako ng mga tao pero it’s the same me. Way before ganito na talaga ako kaya ‘di sila sanay na ‘Ang daming tattoo niyan, adik yan,’” he explained.

When asked if his tattoos were also his expression of rebelliousness, he said, “Siguro.

He then laughed and said the rumors didn’t end when he got tattoos and even reached the national level.

Baste is gearing up for his travel show Lakbai which will air in May 2017.
