Jake Cuenca says he wasn’t disheartened by his recent accident.
Despite his doctor’s advice and his recent life-threatening accident, Jake Cuenca is not about to stop training for a triathlon.
"Sabi ko nga sa coach ko, hindi ako na-discourage at all, tuloy pa rin sa triathlon, tuloy pa rin pagsa-cycle,” he said in a recent interview with Cinema News.
He, however, stressed that he would take greater care this time around.
“Definitely mag-iingat but… ito ang pinili kong sports eh na sobrang normal ang aksidente, sobrang normal na may mangyari,” he said. “It’s just a matter of time, nagkataon lang na nangyari ito this time around."
But how is he after his March accident?
“I’m good, better, mas okay na. Akala ko mamamatay na ako dun. Pero okay pa, buhay pa…” he confessed.
The Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin actor finally found the time to recount what really recount what happened.
"Naano lang, bike nung umaga, nagte-traning ako, tapos may biglang nag-stop na truck, nabangga ako,” he said adding that it’s not entirely the truck driver’s fault.
He even agreed to what was written in the news.
“Kasalanan ko, kasalanan nung truck, walang problema,” he said.
Jake, however, clarified that he didn’t injure any part of his ribs.
“Two fractures in my hands, five screws, kinabit and everything. Ribs? No, nothing… stitches sa baba ko lang,” he said.
In the end Jake related that he was advised to take a two-week rest. Neverthless, he will be getting back in front of the camera for their upcoming soap sooner than everyone thinks.
"Tuloy ang taping, next week pag tinanggal na ito, dire-diretso na ang taping," he ended.
