Robi Domingo on break up with Gretchen Ho: 'On my end I’m still hurting'

030217-RobiDomigo_PUSHMAIN.jpgAfter releasing a joint statement about their break up on Tonight With Boy Abunda last March 1, Robi Domingo elaborated on the unexpected break up between him and Gretchen Ho. “We talked about it and then hindi naman ito yung ako yung nagsabi or siya yung nagsabi, it’s a mutual decision talaga. Walang third party. Mutual understanding naman siya. Mutual statement yun and what happened to us is the statement we released last night. So much has been going on. Ang dami niyang projects sa news department and sa sports and action. Ako I have this and may mga nilalatag na projects and we are just so happy and blessed. Pero we’ve decided na wala talagang time to grow yung relationship namin,” he shared during the I Can Do That presscon inside ABS-CBN last March 2.

The 27-year-old host-actor said there is no truth to the rumors linking him to Sandara Park. “I don’t know (what started that). We are good friends and kung ano man ang mga narinig niyo it’s not true. Let’s give the respect that Sandara deserves kasi she has given honor sa atin kahit na nasa ibang bansa siya. So I think yun yung kailangan ibigay sa kanya at the same time ibigay natin yung respeto na kailangan natin ibigay kay Gretchen kasi she’s been one great person,” he revealed.

As one of the hosts of the new celebrity challenge show I Can Do That, Robi said he wants to prioritize work and focus on moving on. “I have to. Siyempre with all the things that happened, kailangan ko mag-move forward kasi there’s no time to be sad muna. I have my fair share of sadness. Honestly until now I’m hurting pero kailangan ka mag-focus kasi you got lots on your plate and heto na yung opportunity eh. Ang tagal kong hinintay itong moment na ito so right now with all the things that happened I can do that because I have to.  There’s a fine line for me for being unfair eh. Siguro unfair unfair kung hindi ko pagbibigyan itong trabaho ko na kailangan ko mahalin. Pero mas magiging unfair kung hindi ko maibibigay yung time na deserve niya. Personally mas bibigyan namin ng priority kung anong nangyayari sa buhay namin kasi ito yung hinintay namin eh,” he admitted.

Despite their decision, Robi told the media he is still open to a possible reconciliation with Gretchen in the future. The I Can Do That admits they have chosen to remain friends. “Yes we are. Our doors are open for each other and that’s the best part, hindi kami bitter sa isa’t isa. Yes on my end I’m still hurting, I’m still sad about what happened. Sana maayos kasi she’s really a great person,” he said.

When asked if he can share when exactly they decided to break up, Robi declined to pulge the info. “Ibigay niyo na sa amin yun. But yung mga three month rule hindi talaga nag-a-apply sa akin,” he added.

I Can Do That starts airing on March 11 on ABS-CBN.
