During her launch as a new Downy ambassador, KC Concepcion chose to honor one of the senior members of her household help who helped raise her and inspire her through the years. “She is part of our household help and in Philippine culture, household help we treat them like family so I really just want to give this time to honor and thank our nanny from when I was a child. I call her nanay Lina. The reason I chose her is because she is really my guiding light. When my mother was busy working, my mother entrusted me to her and she writes me handwritten cards that are well thought of every month. I want to really honor our household help, the ones who have really devoted their lives to us. She never married anymore and she considers all of us her children. A lot of us can relate to their situation. We all have our nanay Linas in our lives,” she shared during the Downy #NeverFade press conference held last March 8 in Taguig city.
With her work in the UN World Food Programme as well as her fundraiser website KC’s Closet, KC said she already has her hands full even without showbiz. “Hindi ko naman iiiwan totally yung mundo ng showbiz but it’s just that right now I’m really prioritizing yung trabaho ko sa U.N. Ibig sabihin may napupuntahan din yung mga hard work namin lahat,” she said.
The newest Downy endorser said she is also happy for her mom’s slimmer figure. So when she’s performing, nasa element talaga niya. We’re very happy that she’s very excited everyday to go to work,” she explained.
With a reunion movie in the works for her parents Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta, KC candidly admitted how she felt when it was announced last December. “Of course that would be a treat na mapanuod sila sa pelikula. And dahil nandito ako sana maging maganda lang yung relasyon nilang dalawa bilang magkaibigan,” she said.
Now that KC is happily dating footballer Ali Borromeo, she said their relationship is going smoothly. “Ayun, busy siya sa football. Ako naman busy sa mga endorsements so it’s a very positive relationship. Siyempre celebrity na rin siya in his own right because of sports. Ganda ng feeling, parang ibang world. Time will tell sa aming dalawa kung talagang ito na talaga yun. Only time will tell. I’m very thankful that he is also very spiritual na tao kasi importante yun sa akin kasi,” she explained.
