The singer looks forward to writing hit songs for other artists someday.
As one of the performers in the Valentine’s Day concert “#LoveThrowback2,” Christian Bautista shared that love songs have the power to touch people in many ways.
“One love song will connect to someone but it will not connect to another per-son. Pero hopefully to that someone, kung ano man nararanasan niya ngayon, either ma-uplift siya or ma-realize niya na eto pala kailangan gawin niya, so yun ang mga nagagawa ng love song. There will definitely be that one person that will connect with that one love song,” he told PUSH.
The balladeer, who is happy with his relationship with his non-showbiz girl-friend, admitted he also sings better when he is in love.
"Pag kumakanta ka ng love song when you’re in love it’s definitely better. Kasi in love eh. Pag kumakanta ka ng love song pero kaka-break mo lang, okay din kasi mas may hugot. Ang mahirap yung kapag walang nangyayari sa buhay mo (laughs). Parang kumakanta ka lang, parang robot,” he said.
When asked what would be the perfect love song he would dedicate his girl-friend, Christian had an immediate answer, "’Your Universe’ because I love the song. She loves the song and we both love Rico Blanco,” he revealed.
On February 14, Christian goes onstage along with fellow artists Hajji Alejandro, Ariel Rivera, Jinky Vidal, Nina, and Joey Generoso with their concert called “#LoveThrowback2.” "I miss Nina kasi nagkaroon kami ng napakagandang duet before sa album niya yung ‘Burn.’ Sabay kami dati nung nasa Warner Music kami dati di ba? So it was me, Nina, Sitti, so it was fun. It was a bunch of good times too,” he recalled.
Apart from performing, Christian said he is busy writing songs for his all-Tagalog album set for release later this year. "I’m still writing, producing my new album. It comes out late this year but it’s originals so I’m very excited. So medyo kinakabahan ako kasi when you release something, you don’t just re-lease it to your fans or to the Philippines eh. You’re releasing it to the world. So I’m hoping that I get a piece of that world and hopefully they really like these songs that I’m going to be releasing.
“Hati siya, for people in love, for people in pain, pero mostly Tagalong songs siya so I’m excited. Yung iba co-write din pero most of the songs ako,” he divulged.
Apart from composing his own songs, Christian has also been busy focusing on carving out a different kind of musical career this year.
"I’ve been writing for other people so hopefully merong mag-hit someday. I’m training also to be a songwriter and producer. I’m technically new at it. I’ve been just singing,” he added.
