Grae Fernandez says he gets guidance from his mom during this challenging time in his life.
With the arrest of his father Mark Anthony Fernandez for alleged possession of marijuana last year (and pleading not guilty to transportation of illegal drugs last December), Grae Fernandez said that he is in contact with his dad, even visiting him where he is currently detained in Pampanga.
"I’m good with him. Yes I get to visit him. Of course it’s still the same (our relationship). He’s good,” he shared during the Kung Fu Yoga celebrity screening held last January 31 in Makati city. The 15-year-old Gimme 5 member has always been vocal about standing by his dad after the arrest.
The Star Magic teen admitted that he also has a close relationship with his grandmother Alma Moreno, but it is his mother Melissa who is guiding him right now.
Grae said he is also looking forward to acting in new projects this year. "May teleserye ako na coming up pero I can’t say the details pa. It’s for primetime yun lang masasabi ko for now,” he says.
Currently a grade 9 student, Grae said his studies have been keeping him busy. “I’m focused on school, of course, and my hobbies like basketball and workshops na rin. In college I don’t know but I’m leaning towards taking a business course,” he added.
Following in the footsteps of his dad, Grae said each role he plays has given him a different lesson in acting. "Siyempre every project madami kang iba iba so madami kang makukuhang mga experience kasi every role is so different from every other role. So every time that you get into that character you have to be another person so the experience of being someone else each time is what you get,” he explained.
