Rodrigo Duterte says he barely sees his son Baste at home

020317-RodrigoDuterte_PUSH.jpgDuring his speech in Davao City, President Rodrigo Duterte casually opened up about his youngest son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte’s relationship with his children. The president expressed his frustration and said he barely sees Baste in their home since seems to spend more of his time with Ellen Adarna.

"Hindi na umuuwi ng bahay, sige lang doon kay Adarna," he said.

He also revealed that one of Baste’s kids is getting distant from him, which is a “tragedy.”

"[Tinanong ko siya], 'Sinong mahal mo? Papa mo at pati mama mo?' [Sagot niya], 'Mama lang.' See, it's a tragedy," he said.

Ellen recently admitted that she and Baste already ended their short-lived romance but they’re still good friends.

The president then shared details about his own relationship with his dad Vicente Duterte.

"I never got well along with my father. Alam mo sa totoo lang iyong tatay ko namatay na never -- hindi niya nga siguro aakalain na maging prosecutor ako, maging mayor ako -- I was just a law student when he died.”

He added that his mother was the one who believed in him.

"Pero iyong tatay ko, [sinasabi niya sa akin], 'Hanggang pantalan ka lang.' That's a cliche, ibig sabihin trabahador ka lang kasi hindi ka nag-aral."
