He said he has confidence in both MTRCB and the ABS-CBN management when it comes to his work.
Back on the late afternoon slot, actor Joseph Marco plays a more daring role in the new drama series, Wildflower. But with the recent issues involving the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and intimate scenes on television, do these events hold him back from performing the sexy nature of his character?
“No naman kasi ‘yung character na pinoportray ko, it’s not really me. It’s not Joseph Marco. It’s the character that I’m portraying. It’s part of my job,” Joseph told PUSH after the Wildflower’s bloggers conference he attended with leading lady Maja Salvador on Tuesday, February 21.
“I’m sure ‘yung mga tao (sa) MTRCB, hindi naman sila ganoon kakitid mag-isip. I’m sure matatalino rin naman sila and kinoconsider naman nila ‘yun,” he added.
Joseph also said that he is confident that the management would only want what is appropriate. “I know for a fact that they’re giving their best and iniisip nila kung mas malaswa na ba ‘yung pinapakita natin. Inaaral din naman ng management. Tinatantya nila kung ano ‘yung magiging reaksyon ng MTRCB.
“Bottomline line lang, ang pinakagusto lang talagang gawin ng management is ibigay sa mga viewers natin ‘yung deserve nila na mapanood nila, ibigay talaga ‘yung best namin. Pero kapag naisisita naman sila ng MTRCB, talagang nag-a-adjust naman sila. Talagang sumusunod naman sila sa batas o sa patakaran,” he explained.
Given the sexy nature of his character, does he have limitations when it comes to what he can show the audience?
“Hindi naman limitations. I think it’s all about timing. Siguro at the moment, somehow, pini-preserve ko ‘yung sarili ko na ‘wag munang mag-briefs and all. Siguro, ang pinaka-ano ko lang at the moment is boxers,” he said.
Moreover, he said he is okay with going topless, “As long as bagay naman ‘dun sa eksena. For example, nasa kwarto ka, you’re wearing boxers, baka matutulog ka pero kung nasa streets ka, naka boxers ka, that’s questionable,” he said.
