022017-Alyanna.jpgOn Rated K, Andre Yllana, Leila Alcasid, and Donny Pangilinan share what led them to follow their parents’ footsteps.

“Natutuwa nga ako na parang nakikilala na nila akong anak ni Aiko (Melendez) pati ni Jomari (Yllana). Napa-proud ako sa parents ko. Kailangan bantay sarado ako sa actions ko dahil isang maling magawa ko lang pwedeng maapektuhan yun career ni mommy, career ni daddy,” Andre shared.

The 18-year-old added, “Gusto ko mag-act ng drama, siguro kaunting action, at comedy.”

Aiko’s advice for her son, who is a first year college Marketing Management student, “You have to finish school. Even now na nag-aartista siya, kahit hindi mo man ma full load yung kukunin mo, ayaw kong mababakante ka. Gusto ko mag-aral ka pa rin. Sa pag-aartista you can’t be shy, and sabi ko, puyatan. It’s not all about the glamour ha – it’s about hard work.”

Meanwhile, Leila, the 19-year-old daughter of beauty queen Michelle Van Eimeren and singer Ogie Alcasid, started mulling over the idea of moving back to the Philippines during her visit last year.

“When I came last July for a holiday, I was really drawn to the idea of coming here and my mom was the one that kind of planted the idea in my head. She saw how much I was enjoying myself and how much I felt at home so she said, ‘you know you could come here if you want. There’s nothing stopping you.’ And then after that, I realized it’s a possibility,” she said.

Leila, who’s currently into blogging while taking voice and Filipino lessons, admitted entering showbiz was not the main reason why she moved back after living in Australia with her mom for 14 years. “It’s not necessarily why I decided to come, but it’s definitely become part of the plan now - something I’m interested in.”

Ogie wishes his daughter to take things slow and to also focus on her studies. He said, “Huwag masyadong magmadali. Siyempre wag kalimutan ang pag-aaral.”

TV host Anthony Pangilinan and actress Maricel Laxa admit they were both surprised that Donny was the one among their brood interested in entering showbiz.

“Last in our minds na si Donny ang papasok. Na-diagnose siya as slow to warm-up, shy-type, kaya surprised kami noong sinabi niyang gusto niyang pumasok sa showbiz. Kasi normally di ba mapapansin mo yan pag bata, but for Donny, no. Ayun pala matagal na niyang iniisip tapos tumiming lang,” Anthony shared.

The MYX VJ also said, “Being in showbiz is always something I’ve thought of. Pero I was just too shy to say that. Ang iniisip ko, matatawa lang sila sa akin. I just like exploring new things.”

At 6 ft. tall, Donny is also into music and sports.  “I just want to be seen as someone different and someone they can look up to.”
