Kim Chiu is reuniting with former ‘My Binondo Girl’ leading man Matteo Guidicelli in her new horror film.
After almost six years, Kim Chiu is set to reunite star with her former My Binondo Girl co-star Matteo Guidicelli for their first ever big screen project.
Kim and Matteo are set to headline a Chito Roño horror flick titled Ghost Bride. The film is slated to be Kim’s third horror flick under the seasoned director while it would be Matteo’s first project with Direk Chito.
“‘Yung kwento umiikot about sa Chinese tradition. Ito hindi masyadong alam ng marami ang tradisyon ng ghost bride. Puwede nilang i-research ito pero totoo talagang nangyayari ito na konti lang ang nakakaalam,” she said during their movie’s recent story conference.
Kim said Pinoys would especially appreciate it because “Ang mga Pilipino mahilig sa Chinese culture, isa ito sa mga bagay na dapat nilang makita at malaman, kung paano ito ginagawa ng mga Chinese.”
Matteo, who is playing the role of Kim’s boyfriend in the film, for his part, was very honored to be tapped for the movie.
“Direk Chito is my dream director to work with and I’m very, very honored to be part of this film and to be working with Kim again after how many years after My Binondo Girl,” he said.
Since it was Matteo’s first time to work with the director, Kim offered a few pieces of advice.
“Makinig lang siya at ‘wag siyang magce-cellphone. Tsaka dapat memorize ang lines,” she said. “Metikoloso siya [Direk Chito] sa acting talaga. Alam niya ang gusto niya, kaya nae-excite rin ako eh kasi every time na nagta-trabaho kami eh may mga bago akong natututunan.”
Meanwhile, Kim’s former love team partner and rumored beau Xian Lim has joined the primetime soap A Love to Last just this week as the third party in Bea Alonzo and Ian Veneracion’s romance.
Since that announcement as well as Kim’s pairing with Gerald Anderson for their upcoming soap Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, many have noticed that KimXi are taking on other career paths.
To this Kim said, “Siyempre hindi naman kami katulad ng batang love teams na pakilig na 19 and 20. Kami mga mid-twenties na rin kami. So parang siyempre i-expand rin namin ang knowledge namin as an actor and as an actress, ganon.”
Aside from Kim and Matteo, the film also stars JC Santos, Rio Locsin, Alice Dixson, Jerome Ponce, Victor Silayan, Mon Confiado, and Beverly Salviejo.
