PUSHPINS: 13 concerts to watch out for in 2018

2017 had a bunch of local and international concerts by solo and group acts. While the concert scene has been thriving for years, 2018’s lineup is definitely something to look forward to.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre

James Reid and Nadine Lustre are finally going back onstage for their second major concert. The concert titled Revolution: The JaDine Concert is slated to happen on February 9, 2018 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

James and Nadine confirmed their relationship shortly after their first major concert JaDine in Love in 2016.

Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, and Erik Santos

Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, and Erik Santos team up for #paMORE on Valentine’s Day. The show happens on February 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert is a deviation from last year’s show titled Royals which had Angeline Quinto onboard instead of Ogie.

American rock band Incubus is set to return to Manila's music scene with a one-night only concert on February 17 at the Big Dome.

Best known for their hits “Drive,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Megalomaniac,” and “Nice To Know You” among others, Incubus previously held concerts in the Philippines in 2015 and 2011.

Much to their fans’ delight, Paramore is coming back to the Philippines for a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on February 18, 2018. The now sold-out concert is the group’s second show in the country after the success of their first Manila show in 2010.

Fifth Harmony

American girl group Fifth Harmony behind the hits "Worth It," "Down," "Boss," and "I'm in Love with a Monster" is returning to the Philippines less than a year since their first show in the country. The group composed of Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui will be performing once again at the Kia Theater on March 6, 2018.

They first performed in Manila in April 2017.

John Legend

After four years, Grammy Award winner John Legend is returning to Manila on March 21, 2018 for part of his "Darkness And Light" world tour. The concert, which will be held at the Araneta Coliseum is the artist’s second show in Manila after the “All of Me” Tour in 2014.

Katy Perry

Filipino Katycats or fans of pop star Katy Perry would have the chance to see their idol anew on her upcoming “Witness” tour at the Mall of Asia Arena on April 2, 2018.

Katy last performed in Manila for her "Prismatic World Tour" in 2015 where she sang her hits "Dark Horse," “Part of Me,” “Wide Awake,” "Firework," and “Roar,” among others.

Following their successful series of mall shows this year, Los Angeles-based trio LANY, who released multiple successful singles including “Super Far,” will have their first major show at the  Araneta Coliseum on April 5, 2018.”

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran’s fans have eagerly waited for the rescheduling of his second concert in the country which was originally slated on November 7. The “Perfect” singer had to find a new concert date after figuring in a biking accident that left his guitar-playing hand injured. After much trepidation, the “Divide” tour was rescheduled to April 8 still at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

The Script

To say that Irish rock band The Script loves Manila might be an understatement as the group is returning to Manila for the 4th time through concert to be held at the Mall of Asia arena on April 14, 2018.

Harry Styles

Filipino fans of former One Direction member Harry Styles now probably has their Labor Day all booked, as their idol finally takes the center stage for his first solo concert in the country at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 1.

Bruno Mars

To say that demands for Grammy Award winner performer Bruno Mars’ Manila concert was really high is quite an understatement. The originally one-night-only show immediately scheduled a second concert after tickets for the “Versace on the Floor” singer’s May 3 concert got sold-out within the first hour of release. Thankfully, the other fans now have the chance to see him at the Mall of Asia Arena on the second night of the show happening on May 4.

Niall Horan

Apart from Harry Styles, fellow One Direction member Niall Horan will also be bringing his new music to Manila through his first solo concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 10, 2018.
