EXCLUSIVE: Carla Humphries looking forward to doing a movie written by Alessandara De Rossi

With all the positive reviews she has been getting from her role as a journalist in the movie adaptation of the bestselling book Smaller and Smaller Circles, Carla Humphries said she is proud to be part of a Raya Martin film.

“I think the book is very cinematic pero siyempre through experience people expect the movie to be exactly like the book. But a lot of what we see when we read is through our own perspective so siyempre this is through the perspective of the one and only Raya Martin who’s an amazing director.

“It’s my first time to work with them and siyempre I think this is also a blessing from direk Wenn Deramas kasi direk Raya saw my work in Bekikang and in 10,000 Hours and that’s where he thought of me for the role. So sobrang saya ko kasi maganda siyang role. Hindi siya yung typical,” she told PUSH.

Apart from the TBA Films project, Carla was also recently part of the Cinema One Originals film festival this year.

“I just finished Nay which was Cinema One Originals. I’m an aswang there with Sylvia Sanchez and Enchong Dee. It was a fun role to play. Ms. Sylvia is amazing in it so sobrang suwerte ko na sa pagbalik ko I’m really working with people I really admire and aspire to. Sana matuto ako sa kanila. The director is Kip Oebanda who directed Bar Boys,” she shared.

For next year, Carla revealed she is most excited about working on a film about a group of close friends in their 30s.

“One of my best friends, Alessandra de Rossi, has been developing a script for a long time and it’s about us as friends. The cast is great and it’s called The Diary of a 30-something. It’s really fun and I think it’s really good. Kung hindi niyo napanuod ang 12, that was the first film that she wrote. It’s about heartbreak and it’s really amazing.

“I really think that Alex is really entering the creative side of film. The cast also has Meryll Soriano, Assunta de Rossi and I’m the youngest of the 30-somethings. I’m really excited to do that kasi siyempre kami-kami magkakaibigan,” she divulged.
