After staging a benefit concert for his mom who has been battling cancer, Marlo Mortel said he is very thankful that he was able to do it with the help of his celebrity friends. “The biggest blessing so far was the benefit concert ko recently that I did for my mom kasi super laking help niya sa mga expenses since ako lang yung gumagastos sa amin. Right now it’s not that good kasi stage four na pero confined sa hospital. But we’re hoping for the best. And of course blessings din itong teleserye na kaka-air lang ang Hanggang Saan and I’m also a part of it so I have that,” he told PUSH.
The 24-year-old Kapamilya actor shared where he finds his strength as the breadwinner of the family and primary caretaker of his mom. “Actually ginagawa ko siyang inspiration. Siyempre kailangan mag-work even harder talaga. So more inspiration,” he said.
Marlo said going through the experience with his mom has changed him a lot this year. “Ang nagbago, mas naging matured ako sa totoo lang. Kasi dati na naman akong breadwinner pero mas madami kasing mga pinagdadaanan ngayon. So mas na-realize ko how important life is talaga and how short life is. So you better just make the most out of it especially be with your family,” he added.
With less than a month to go until the New Year, Marlo admitted he is already planning his goals, which will focus on making music. “I look forward sa career. Mag-ri-release din ako ng own album ko. Of course priority ko talaga ever since yung music ko. Excited ako for that,” he shared.
