Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres proved that she’s still the dancing queen after winning the Mira Quien Baila dance contest in the US with $50,000 prize. She will bring the prize to her home country Puerto Rico and donate it to the San Jorge Children’s Foundation.
“It’s an immense joy to bring that check to Puerto Rico. At this time that my country is suffering, this was a moment of joy, a second of hope, that I could bring to my people. I was thinking about them the entire time,” she told People.
She also said that her inspirations are her children Cristian and Ryan while her ex-husband Marc Anthony motivated her.
Dayanara, who passed the Miss Universe crown to her successor in the Philippines, entered local showbiz and was once dubbed as the country’s Dancing Queen.
