Raising three daughters on her own is no easy feat but Sunshine Cruz said she will never get tired of being a hands-on mom to Angelina, Angel, and Samantha. “I can be a spoiler but at the same time ‘pag kailangang magpaka-nanay, strict ako sa kanila and they respect me for that. And I’m grateful na sobra yung respeto at pagmamahal sa akin ng mga anak ko. Wala pa silang manliligaw. They’re still my babies. Up to now natutulog pa rin sa tabi ko. Hindi ako in denial of course I know that it will come. Darating yan,” she said.

Sunshine admitted that she is already readying herself for the time when her kids start dating. Darating yan I know. Alam naman nila yung focus nila which is studies. Parang kaming barkada talaga,” she shared.

Now that her eldest daughter has embarked on a musical career, Sunshine makes sure to provide close guidance and support. “Ako kasi nag-artista ako, I started in showbiz when I was 15 as well. Ang sabi ko lang sa kanya, ‘Always be professional and just be dedicated and focused pagdating sa pagkanta but don’t ever, ever forget your studies.’ I know she can do it. She’s doing it. She’s studying, she’s focusing on her singing but at the same time sa pag-aaral din naman. Masipag mag-aral yung bata,” she said.

Getting into showbiz also includes learning to deal with bashers which is one of Sunshine’s concerns. “Kasi minsan they still get hurt especially si Angelina, she’s a baby. She’s 15. I’ll protect you.’ Basta block and delete lang. So huwag mo patulan, huwag kang mag-reply. Be the classy one. Pero I see to it na lagi namang maayos ang pagsagot ko. Tao lang,” she said.
