Seasoned star Sylvia Sanchez agrees that 2017 is her year.
Not only did she rake in awards for her impeccable performance as Gloria in The Greatest Love, Sylvia also landed several projects this year, including endorsements, a movie, and a new soap together with son Arjo Atayde titled Hanggang Saan.
So plinano niya ito na sa age na ito, ito ang mararating ko,” she said in an interview after the 31st PMPC Star Awards for TV where she bagged the Best Dramatic Actress award.
“Sabi nga, siguro hinasa niya ako ng husto kasi at the age of 27 nanay na ako eh. 46 na ako ngayon, so ang tagal na non bago ako naging si Gloria,” she added.
Sylvia will always look back on her character Gloria with so much fondness.
Siyempre sanay akong supporting actress pero sa isang mismong teleserye, hindi ko inasahan,” she said, adding that she also didn’t expect that their show would continuously bag awards seven months since its last episode aired.
Sylvia revealed that she remains anxious whenever she goes onstage to accept an award.
Ang dami ko paring nakakalimutang pasalamatan,” she said with a laugh.
But, in a few more weeks, Sylvia is set to headline another soap called Hanggang Saan, which was previously known as All That Matters.
Instead of being pressured, Sylvia is very thrilled to introduce a new role to the viewers.
Even if Gloria left an indelible mark on the viewers’ minds, Sylvia is confident that their new soap would also captivate the public.
If there’s one thing that’s weighing her down about the project it is the fact that she will be co-starring with son Arjo.
“Doon ako nape-pressure. Siyempre kaming mag-ina… Nung una, nung inoffer palang sabi namin ‘Kaya ba natin to? Okay ba?’ Ganon lang. Pero sa awa ng Diyos nung ginagawa namin tsaka yung takbo ng storya, alam naming tatanggapin ng tao,” she said.
Sylvia revealed that their soap is set to start airing this coming November 27.
