“To keep a Halloween reputation, you have to have some very extra friends,” said Elise Mendoza on her Facebook post.

The group behind last year’s viral Train to Busan Instagram photo this time managed to catch the attention of none other than Taylor Swift. Their witty take on the singer’s “Look What You Made Me Do” video earned her approval.

The group first caught attention last year for their Train to Busan parody. “We knew the Taylor Swift group cosplay was not going to be as big as last year’s, because it was more a niche costume and not as widely recognizable like Train to Busan,” shared Gab Yap. “So our goal really was just to reach Taylor and show how much we loved her ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video, and it worked! It was unexpected, but it was a really exciting moment for all of us.”

“We were all college students in UP Diliman,” says Gab of the beginnings of their friendship, which spans eight years now. Aside from himself, others members of the group behind the Taylor Swift group cosplay include Fab Fabia, Eunice Lemi, Angeli Luna, Neil Marchadesch, Elise Mendoza, Jona Pajarillaga, Bai Salamera, and Kurt Yu. “We were all architecture majors and most of us also took the board exams together.”
