Pinay singer Alisah Bonaobra’s journey on X Factor UK took another dramatic turn on Saturday (Sunday-Manila time) last October 7.
Belting her powerful rendition of Celine Dion’s "All By Myself," Alisah was initially given a spot in the final six of Sharon Osbourne's group. However, after contestant Grace Davies left the judges in awe with her exceptional performance, Sharon decided to give Alisah's spot to Grace. This left the audience in a state of shock that they began chanting the Pinay singer's name.
Listening to the sentiments of the live audience, Sharon decided to call back Alisah for a sing-off with two other contestants Scarlett Lee and Rai-Elle Williams.
“I am so sorry to make you do this. But what do I do when there’s so much talent here and the audience, I have to listen to the audience. No matter what, I have two chairs and three girls. I want you to do a sing off for me. You are all talented. Don’t forget that,” Sharon said.
Much to the surprise of the judges, Alisah performed Jessie J’s “Bang Bang.” The Pinay singer wowed the judges with her rendition that she successfully secured a seat in Sharon’s final six, together with Rai-Elle.
It was not the first time that Alisah experienced a dramatic moment in the show. Last week, she tearfully asked for a second chance after almost getting eliminated at the judges’s boot camp. Her performance of Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” mesmerized the judges that they decided to give her another chance.
